Only residents of eastern Canada had the opportunity to witness a small bite out of the Sun as it was being eclipsed by the Moon on November 3. With the eclipse occurring at sunrise, clouds on the horizon obscured the view for many. Fortunately for Dave McCarter, he was able to see the eclipsed Sun rise over Lake Erie from near Port Stanley, Ontario. To his surprise, the clouds quickly disappeared once the Sun began to rise. Photo data: 1/4000 second using a Nikon D70s camera with a 300mm lens at f/22.
