A Lone Quadrantid Meteor by Malcolm Park
Although it’s not one of the most prominent celestial events of the year, the Quandrantid meteor shower nonetheless provides some bright meteors streaking across the winter sky. Malcolm Park captured this lone Quandrantid slicing through Orion on January 3, 2014, from the shore of Lake Ontario near Wellington, Ontario.
Data: 25-second exposure at f/8 with a Nikon D800 camera using a 14mm lens and ISO 1600.
